Flowers have a charm of itself which perhaps no other accessory or decoration can attain. A freshly bloomed flower on the groom’s tuxedo or in the bridesmaid’s basket enhances the beauty. Thanks to the commercial cultivators and importers, winter wedding flowers are available in a vast range. Also seasonal flowers work wonders to make that special day look stunning.
One of the seasonal favorites would be the Ranunculus. They come in a variety of colors which include white, purple, deep red, orange, yellow and pink and can be used in table centers, bouquets and boutonnieres. Another fantastic choice would be the Cymbidium Orchids. There is a wide selection offered in winter available in white, yellow and pale green. and Gerberas may be used in their plethora of colors. Roses too are a much regular option, with many being imported from California,Holland,Columbia and Ecuador. Chrysanthemums too are delightful choices found throughout the year.
Just like seasonal blossoms are a hit, at times unusual choices can also steal the show. Commonly known as the kangaroo paw- Anigozanthos is a plant that grows in Australia. Found in array of colors which include yellow, pale pearly pink, lime green or rich dark red; they not only add color to the reception arrangements but also add texture with their soft feel. To add a blast of color to the winter wedding one can use Anemones. These extraordinary blooms have a very dark almost black center which looks like velvet. They can be used for the wedding posy bouquet or can be combined with other flowers such as Roses, Ranunculus, Hypericum berries, Statis and Hedera berries. Their deep and rich colors of purple and red, work really well for winter marriages. Another breathtaking pick would be the Amaryllis. One can appreciate the tall stems and huge red, white or pink flower heads in the table décors. A slight different option would be Nerine- a delicate flower found in pink and white. It can be added to the winter bouquet or the reception arrangement.
A winter marriage can have an array of colors which can highlight the warm tones of the festival set against the snow white backdrop. Apart from the common colors green can really strike a balance in all flower arrangements. Holly and Ivy are the classic choices for winter ceremonies. Just a note of caution would be that if Hollies are used with the berries they should be decorated accordingly because they are poisonous and should not be within the reach of young children. Using tree and plant stems in ceremony and reception arrangements obtain great results, because they add height to the arrangements. Also their geometric straight lines contrasts perfectly with the winter blossom arrangements. Red Dogwood and Yellow Dogwood stems are also found during this season and can be added to enhance the bouquets with their vivid shades. The pliable soft fur like buds of the Pussy Willow can be curbed to form interesting shapes too.
Whatever be the choice, the stress is on how the couple would like the mood of the wedding to be and that their choice of shape and shade compliment the plans of the special day.
