Queen’s Manor Event Centre, at 2 Auction Lane in Brampton, is a modern venue whose halls are offered as a blank canvas. That makes it a wonderful room for decor: the design sets the mood. For this reception, we brought in colour, height and sparkle to turn a contemporary hall into a vibrant celebration.
The Design
The brief was a reception that felt bold and celebratory. We built the room around three ideas: a dramatic centrepiece overhead, rich colour at every table, and lighting that made the space glow after dark.
- A gold crystal chandelier installation suspended in the middle of the room, giving guests one striking focal point the moment they walk in.
- Tall floral centrepieces in hot pink, fuchsia and orange, with orchids, roses and tropical leaves, mixed with lower candlelit arrangements so the room has height without blocking conversation.
- Dark, elegant tables with black damask linens, gold chargers and bright pink napkins, which let the florals stand out.
- Clear chairs that keep a room full of tables feeling light and open.
- A starlight backdrop and patterned lighting on the walls, adding depth and a touch of night-sky magic.
Why It Works in a Modern Room
Contemporary halls with high ceilings can feel vast. A suspended installation brings the eye to the centre of the room, while tall centrepieces fill the vertical space between tables and ceiling. The dark linens and starlight wall create contrast, so the gold, crystal and bright florals read clearly in photos and in person.
Planning Decor at Queen’s Manor Event Centre
According to the venue’s listings, Queen’s Manor has several halls, from rooms for around 220 guests up to The Manor, its largest hall, which seats up to 1,100. There is also a patio for outdoor ceremonies and cocktail receptions, and an on-site bridal suite. A few things to plan for:
- Confirm your hall early. The size of the room decides the scale of the stage, installations and centrepieces.
- Check rigging for hanging pieces. Chandeliers and ceiling installations need the venue’s approval and an agreed method for hanging them.
- Coordinate lighting. Plan uplighting, patterned lighting and the backdrop together with the venue’s AV so the colours look right.
- Agree setup and removal times, especially if you are holding more than one event at the venue.
